Agnes & Kyle

Sofitel Chicago Water Tower

We had a blast playing for Agnes & Kyle’s wedding at the Sofitel Chicago. Flawless planning by Misha from Liven It Up Events. Amazing photography by Le Cape Weddings.

Many thanks to Agnes for leaving this review for us on Yelp!

It’s only been a month since our wedding, but we have gotten MANY comments about the Chris Sarlas Orchestra at our May 2013 wedding. Comments such as “WOW, that was the best band I’ve ever heard at a wedding” keep coming! I fully agree.

People were even dancing before our first dance because the music was so good! Our dance floor was packed until the very last song. I would highly recommend Chris Sarlas. The band even wore our wedding sunglasses we gave out as favors without us asking, which was a nice little touch!

The package rate was VERY reasonable and Chris was always accommodating with meeting my husband and I. Chris is the perfect MC. I am so grateful our guests had a wonderful time and a lot of that is due to Chris Sarlas and his band!!

Absolutely top notch! We used them for our wedding in April and could not have been more pleased. Super easy to work with- Chris knows all the questions to ask and really helped this clueless bride plan out the reception. He understood exactly the vibe we were going for (more party, less traditional) and 100% delivered. Thanks to Chris, everything ran so smoothly during the reception. The musicians were amazing and kept our dance floor PACKED the entire night. At the end of the night, our guests were chanting, “One more song!” which very aptly sums it up!

Hilton Rosemont
Pam & Kevin

Pam and Kevin meticulously planned their ceremony and reception at the Hilton Rosemont — truly great music fans, they had many diverse requests! One of the many highlights included a custom arrangement of Beyonce’s “Halo” prepared and performed by Artistrings. First dance was our performance of Dave Matthews Band’s “You and Me” — dancing between courses of dinner service, the hora looked like a ridiculously busy scene from a movie, and comfy flip flops were worn by many! Pam’s Sister and Maid of Honor, left this great 5-star review of the evening on Yelp — many thanks Debbie!

“I am still recovering from one of the best nights of my life thanks to the Chris Sarlas Orchestra. This past weekend was my sister’s wedding and Yelp doesn’t give me the option to add more stars to this phenomenal band and orchestra. If you are looking for top quality musicians, this is where you should turn to in the Chicagoland area. Chris and Carol are an absolute pleasure to work with. Whatever requests my sister and her husband had, big or small, Chris and Carol were able to meet that request.  I have never seen so many people dancing at any event. I wish I could watch all of the musicians perform every weekend because the show was spectacular! Thank you for making their wedding the success that it truly was. You are the talk of the town!”

First song of dancing between courses with a reduced band. Note that it didn’t result in reduced dancing…SING DAYNA!!

Melissa & Pete

Our final wedding of 2012 was Melissa & Pete’s celebration at one of the most beautiful ballrooms in the City. Farrah Singh coordinated all aspects wonderfully — even after holiday mania, their guests danced and danced!
The bride & groom were so kind to post this wonderful 5-star review on Wedding Wire and Yelp:

“We hired the Chris Sarlas Orchestra for our wedding in late 2012. They were outstanding. Chris is a pleasure to work with- very professional. His musicians are top-notch. So many of our guests were raving about the band. We had them play a couple of Greek dance songs, which everybody loved, and the rest traditional music. Chris does a great job with the MC duties, keeping the reception moving. He’s very classy- no cheesy wedding band stories here.

One note: Chris posts video on youtube and on his website of actual weddings and dates that his band plays. No studio videos/recordings. You really get a good idea of how they’ll sound at your wedding.

This takes guts on his part, and to us, it made the difference.

We’re absolutely thrilled with our choice of bands for our wedding.”

Rea & Ian

JW Marriott
Rea & Ian

Rea and Ian’s wedding was our first performance at the newly renovated and stunning JW Marriott — I never met Ian and Rea until the party; they did all their planning via e-mail and phone from the West Coast! They told us some music choices they liked, some they weren’t fond of, and trusted us to fill in the rest — Most of the people who gave toasts, all mentioned how their bridal dance, “Better Together”/Jack Johnson was so perfect for them!

Ian’s father (who initially contacted us) left us this fantastic 5-star review, summing up his experience with us. I think this is one of our all-time favorite reviews 🙂

“Just returned from our son’s wedding in Chicago and we are all still buzzing- the wedding was tremendous on all levels but The Chris Sarlas Orchestra truly made the wedding unforgettable. Guests have not stopped raving about the orchestra and the variety and quality of the music. Sarlas delivered!! What did not go unnoticed was his understated approach- he knows that HE is NOT the show for the night…it is about the bride, the groom and the guests. So, no ego, no showmanship, just performances to please the crowd. The Orchestra fed off the guests and the guests fed off the Orchestra. This made for 4 hours of pure enjoyment. No brainer if you want a wedding band for your evening.”

Thank you Dave for choosing us to celebrate Ian and Rea’s special day!

Such a busy night, but we managed to get a couple of clips late in the party….and it was such a fantastic crowd.

Our favorite new song, from Bruno Mars:

Barry sounds fantastic on this Neon Trees tune:

Your guests will tell you that they're dancing to the best band in Chicago, and we have the reviews to prove it!
